I posted my How To guide on Camping car Rapido some time ago and they eagerly translated it into French toute suite
A recent respondent has posted a picture of his retro fit of the older filter. Unfortunately he's not yet given any info on pipe connection or what he did with the electrical connections but it is here working without issue apparently

Yes I noticed but I'd struggle to find his post about that .
Looks like compressed air or gas pipework fittings

Before anyone decides to fit the latest Euro 5 type fuel filter be aware it is a VERY expensive item, I've just done one and was shocked to see list price as £104:Eeek::Eeek:! Fiat part No is 60693681 Mann filters No WK 853/21. The new filter has a bleed nipple on top which you open with ignition on to bleed the air out, it also has a different water sensor fitted to the bottom and no electrical connections to the top.

its a good job some of us that just put lights up know where to shop lmao

John I did say the LIST price and the filter you have brought up is a Crossland not a Mann item.

My warning was more aimed at anyone thinking of fitting the latest metal can type filter and possibly going to a Fiat agent for the part. Even at £38 plus VAT its still not a cheap item.

No I don't think so, or at least not easily so. The plastic housing type has a 4 or 5 pin electrical connection on top and a 3 pin at bottom, this new metal cannister one only has an electrical connection at bottom and it is a different type to the previous version.

may I throw a spanner in the works

::bigsmile:

It seems to me from the many posts here is that all the problems arising from the fuel filter issue has occurred due to the filter being changed in accordance to the fiat's service schedule and the lack of understanding of the replacement procedure however Fiat make loads of money from their part sales to garages/ mechanics etc from the change of this filter but just how many people have ever had a failure by not changing the dreaded filter......is it true that diesel fuel is now subjected to very strenuous refining:Smile: is it also true that Fiat like all motor manufactures were telling the the motor trade twenty years to change the fuel filter .....next case scenario will be the changing of the fuel injectors.....:roflmto::roflmto::roflmto:
