Has anyone had experience of Fiat extended warranty on a new PVC. Seems it’s 250 per year and this includes recovery. Seems good value just wondered what people think about Fiat extended warranty and recovery? Is it worth it

Having had an expensive experience with our Fiat ducato 2.3, just out of normal warranty IMHO I would buy it. Hindsight a wonderful thing.

Worth it for peace of mind when buying new, especially as it avoids the cost of any breakdown cover throughout UK/Europe. The official Fiat extension ”Camper Protect” costs around £850 and gives a total 5 years cover from new. It can only be purchased within 15 days of the vehicle being first registered and only available from a Fiat Professional Dealer (and not all will sell it to you, preferring to sell you what is in effect a form of breakdown insurance cover, as this is more profitable for them).

You mention the figure of £250 a year. If this is what you have been offered, it is almost certainly an insurance product and based on my previous experience of arguing about a claim, I would suggest you avoid. The genuine Fiat offering has to be paid for in full, not on an annual basis.

Bought my Fiat Warranty through Chelston Motorhomes, Wellington Somerset who are a Fiat Professional and they were not my supplying dealer. No porblem at all.

Definitely go for the 5 year extended warranty - and as Millcourt has said only 15 days to do it. Simon Potter of Adams Morey in Portsmouth seems to be a Fiat Pro dealer who understands the scheme and did it for us. Many posts here of people buying a new van and not learning about the scheme until too late!
The price has been held I think for a number of years so if you can do it before they increase the price (no knowledge) or withdraw it.

I purchased the extended warranty last week from sherwood truck and van, contact was Gary Rodgers. Total cost 866.66

Is it just a further three years warranty and breakdown?
Do you still have to pay their outrageous costs to service the van every year?

Yes full European breakdown cover.

It has to be serviced as per there schedule. You might be able to take it to a 3rd party as long as they use original parts.

My personal take on this if its serviced at a fiat garage then they will be no come back if you need to claim.

If the new van ever arrives thinking about taking it out as a friend has had serious problems with the 9 speed box. But it's not just the £900 for an extra 3 years to be safe you need to have it serviced by a Fiat professional, Adams Morey now charge over £800 for a service and will need two of them compared to £250 at local independant.

I have tended to self insure on many products but with all the issues with component shortages and manufacturers sourcing from alternative routes leading to failures, when mine turns up I think I might take it
