Hi, I'm posting this question for my dad who can't find out where the Air condition belt is located on our Fiat Ducato motorhome, could anyone be kind enough to explain or send a photo?
Thank you
Air con compressor is USUALLY drive by the alternator belt.
Just locate the compressor by following the two metal pipes with what look like tyre valves on them near the engine and follow the belt
Rarely a seperate belt these days
As stated above it will be driven by one of the drive belts at the front of the engine, That is on a FWD engine not the clutch /gear box side.
Run the engine and follow the belts, keeping your fingers etc well clear and look for the compressor as John says above the unit with the silver metal pipes ended with rubber flexes. The compressor has a magnetic clutch and if working correctly you will see it and hear it cut in and out during operations.
Just seen your thread Jill and I know you've located the belt but wanted to let you know that if my husband isn't around and I need
help with air con charging or alternator belts etc. I always go to Halfords they're very friendly and also don't rip you off just 'cos your a female!!!
