I'm a newbie
I have a 2020 Fiat Ducato 160bhp automatic.Stop/start function not working.Any ideas anyone.

Have you enabled it? Don't know your set up but most things are off or on at some selection entry system somewhere.

If the light blinks but the engine doesn't start stop, it could be a low battery. Our citroen did this for close to a year. Took it on 5 hour drive, start/stop started working again.

I wouldn't worry about it not working, on my car its a pain in the bum when it worked I had to remember to turn it off everytime I wanted to move off quickly roundabout/T-lights. Its on by default and will only work if it senses starter battery fully charged

Don't know if this will help - taken from the user manual

Versions with automatic
transmission
With vehicle at a standstill and brake
pedal pressed, the engine switches off
if the gear lever is in a position other
than (R).
NOTE On versions with automatic
transmission In the event of stops
uphill, the engine switching off is
disabled to activate the "Hill Start
Assist" function (works only with
running engine).
NOTE After automatic restarting, for the
Stop&Start system to intervene again
simply move the vehicle (at speed
higher than 0.5 km/h for versions with
automatic transmission or 7 km/h for
versions with manual transmission).
The warning light on the instrument
panel switches on to signal that the
engine has stopped

It is enabled ie button to right of steering wheel light off and says activated on dash display.Did 200 mile round trip yesterday still not working.

Low battery, as posted above.

On my car (Peugeot 3008) it only works when it feels like it. Battery needs to be charged higher than 75%, won’t work below 6 degrees.......etc, etc. Waste of time.(y)

I changed my battery without following handbook instructions. Stop start will only occasionally work when battery feels like it.
Almost certainly a battery problem.

Bit non plussed starter battery fully charged all seems well with the electrics.Think I'll just ignore it and see if it starts working at some point but thanks everyone for your suggestions.

There are multiple reasons why stop start may not operate, if the Temperature in the cab is not what has been selected eg too hot or too cold, if the vacuum in the servo is depleting as above the battery voltage can effect the stop start.

Try switching off the Air con and fan, see what happens.

If it’s off I.e. not working then the starter battery will last longer and I doubt you will notice the “extra” fuel consumption in a 3 ton truck, always switch mine off in the cars as soon as I turn ignition on don’t like the slight delay when pulling off at roundabouts

Mine stopped starting.
I hadn't realised it was marketed as a feature.

With the current lack of use my Merc E350 stop start doesn't work. The dash screen says 'Auxiliary Battery Malfunction' instead of 'Charge your starter battery'! But that's MB for you. Shades of Hyacinth Bucket...
