Hi everyone, I'm a new member and also a new Motorhomer, having only been such since I purchased my 2013 Swift Sundance 584PR in August this year, after a few years of caravanning.
I'm hoping some of you experienced peeps out there might be able to help me with my current project of fitting an underfloor spare wheel carrier.
I know that I can get the correct part for my 2013 Fiat chasssis from ebay for about £120 pounds but I'm wondering if anyone has fitted this version from eBay,

for approx £70, which I know states that its suitable for models 2015 onwards only but seems so similar and I appear to have all the holes and fixings in the cross member of my vehicle!
Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated..
Kind regards to all.... Steve

It will only fit 15" wheels pre 2015
That model fits both because from that year on they started doing 15&16 wheels with the same bolt pitch circle.
15" were 118 and 16" 130 but now both 118 I believe

Living the dream.
Our carrier is a cage Steve (02 Ducatto,Alko tag axle) and it bolts to the floor and keeps the wheel well up out of the way.

Why not drop the seller a line and ask them what the difference is.

Hi Andy, that sounds very good news for me as I have 15" wheels and have already bought the spare wheel/tyre which has the PCD of 118. I take it that you are saying that the carrier I mentioned in my post is quite a straightforward fit to my 2013 chassis?
I have read every thread I can find on this subject including your very good guide to fitting to an Alko chassis but have never seen or read anything that I could take as a definitive answer to my dilemma!
I know that if I bought the carrier kit from the ebay link I posted, that I won't get the winder included but I have seen them on eBay for about £12, which is still a good saving from the £120 item!
Many many thanks for your very quick reply and I feel a bit closer to completing my task! :)

I have actually done that and they replied "Unfortunately we are unable to say for sure if this would fit pre 2015 models"
...so I wasn't very much further forward...

It will fit your wheel but I cannot guarantee that the unit will fit your chassis.
It is most likely that it will as I don't think the chassis changed from the X250 to the X290. Changes were mainly cab

I think that I was pretty sure that it would fit the chassis so thanks for the added advice, the fact that it would fit the wheel as you have said is perhaps the more important bit so again my thanks..

Like you I would not want to drive without a spare wheel but be aware that your payload will decrease and could be a problem if it is already tight.

Hi Guys and Gals, I have received my spare wheel carrier and for the life of me I can't see how I actually attach the spare wheel to the lifting mechanism! I'm sure that I'm missing something simple but I haven't fathomed it yet! I presume that I have to detach the piece from the end of the steel wire in order to put it the other side of the spare wheel and then re-attach it to lift the wheel into place? Its the bit with a very strong steel spring on it! Any help would be much appreciated! :)

Feed it through at an angle from this side

Hi Andy, I can't seem to get it through the centre hole of the wheel.. I'm sure that I have the right part and wheel but its just a tad too big, I might have to try grinding a bit off the corners of the wheel holder, thanks for your reply though and at least I now know how it SHOULD fit! lol

If it’s too big it’s for a 130 16”

I think that I have messed up! I thought that I had got a bargain from Spain, I saw an item on ebay that had the Fiat code 1370998080, which is the correct part for my Ducato, it duly arrived today and with that same part number written on the outside of the box! However, the part number on the actual part is 1363361080, which I now believe it to be for the 16" wheel as you have stated too! I think that I might have recourse to let Ebay know and try to retrieve my money back! Thanks again Andy..

Hi @Bubblyboy . The eBay description is confusing as has been already stated, Fiat use 16” alloys with a 15” pcd of 118mm. If you have alloys fitted you could use the bracket and bolts shown above as well if you wanted to carry the punctured alloy before repair, as opposed to carrying it elsewhere in the Moho. This may not be the case for you but I hope will be useful to others reading this post. Mike

Hi Tugger, unfortunately I took a gamble on an eBay listing for an item from Spain that just comprised of the part number 1370998080, no description at all but which I knew to be the correct part but when it arrived the actual part in the box was the wrong one. It was the one for the 16" wheels (part number 1363361080) and though it would all fit to my vehicle the wheel retainer obviously wouldn't pas through the hole in the spare wheel centre! I have steel wheels but the ebay seller is happy to refund me and so no harm has been done and I will order the correct part from the UK now. I have given him photographic evidence and he is satisfied that it was an error..As it was the sellers mistake I am not expecting him to ask me to return the item but if he does it will have to be picked up from my home, I will not pay for return postage! I thought it was a bargain at the price it sold for but has backfired somewhat! Thanks for your reply...
