Whilst waiting to be recovered!! (6 hrs and counting) has anybody suffered a power loss whilst driving. Rolled to a stop engine still running. Red EMS light on, RAC could not diagnose hence recovery. MH is 2020 burstner.
Any suggestions?

If they can't get a code from the obd port then anything from us is guesswork ? Red eml light though normally means you cannot drive it

Very bad luck. Only upside is it should be a warranty job. Keep us posted when the problem is diagnosed.

Ziggyd, any update with a cause for the problem? I had total power loss today although it cleared again as i rolled to a stop, but curious as mine is a 2020 burstner and only done 2200 miles.

Very long story, outcome was a failed gearbox. New one fitted under warranty from fiat but it took a month, was not happy. Saving grace was I think power loss happened when engineers gave me back tge van stating they couldn't find anything and I tried to drive it away. Hope you don't get same issue.

Check your throttle pedal connection small pins on the wiring side ,gentle with a sowing needle push pins in slighty.before I did this mine would go into limp home mode ,now runs perfect .This was a fix suggested by udo service manager for MW Fahzeugtechnik near wetzler Germany ,both Udo and Mario the owner speak perfect English I’ve been going there for service since new nearly 20 years,Fiat commercial motorhome dealers hope this helps.

Morning Ziggyd. Thanks for that quick reply and may be significant. In my situation yesterday, just as it was crawling I touched the gear lever and power seemed to come back. As it accelerated I noticed the box had gone into manual mode which it wasn't in before the problem occurred.
So I'm now wondering what gearbox you had to have changed. Mine is the 6 speed auto.
Regards Andrew

Morning Flairy. Thanks for your reply too. I don't know where to find those connections you refer to. Are they attached to the top of the pedal lever or inside the engine bay?
Regards Andrew

When you lie down under the dash, hand on the throttle pedal the wires go to a block pushed onto the throttle pedal.I removed the pedal assembley 3 little bolts I think there 10mil ,then it’s easy to pull off, then when you look at the wire block side you can see the little brass pins sticking up,gently with a sewing needle push them to the centre ever so slightly ,hope this makes sense.

Yes it does, many thanks. I'll have a look at that. Fingers crossed it's that simple and not gearbox.

Same make and model and same 2020 plate, auto gearbox as well. Did you order it a the NEC per chance as I have a theory that batch of gearboxes faulty.

No, I bought it s/h this year but only 390miles on clock. First owner never used it but it was supplied to them by the Burstner dealer in Perthshire. I've got it booked in for investigation at my local dealer in Lincoln.
Thanks for reply again. 👍

Sensible move, first off dealership and RAC could not find fault through diagnostic checks. Only realised a fault when it physically lost the drive in their own back yard and they tried to drive it. They had to go back to Fiat Italy for advice. Hope its something more straightforward for you.
