I’ve ordered a new Euro 6 fiat Manuel just wondering what they are like on fuel. 4.5t coachbuilt 8metres long. I’ve an ACLASS 3 litre 160bhp 4tons. Forget to mention the new one is the 2.3 150bhp will it be better than the 3litre thanks

I can't imagine why it would be any better as the 2.3 will be working harder as it's a heavier and even less aerodynamic van you are moving to.

MPG relies on so many imponderables such as driving style, terrain, weather & million other things.

I consistently get more MPG that any vehicles guide figures but, I drive like a vicar.
My old dad taught me to "drive as if you had a bad tempered traffic cop behind you who was in a bad mood" this has served me very well throughout my driving career.
I was quite capable of driving very quickly indeed on emergency duties but, saw no need to speed in normal driving.

Far easier to simply suck it & see.

We’ve had two Fiat 2.3 150 engines one in a coach built and the other in an A class manual gears and averaged around 25 mpg in both the Coach built a 2013 model and A class 2016, however we towed a car trailer with the A Class.
The estimates based on tank brimmed to brimmed.(y)(y)(y)

We have a Globecar PVC 2.3 plated at 4100kg and when we travel with @Bulldog Boxy towing their caravan I have seen 37 mpg on the trip display.

When Itravel to Benidorm and clog it I get 25-27 mpgonthe display.

Bigger truck, smaller engine, it's going to be working harder, so something has to go, you don't get anything for nothing in this life, but hell go and enjoy it!!

We have a 2.3 130 euro 6 engine, imala 730 3650 kg, now approaching 6000m was disappointed to be getting 25-26 mpg average whilst trying to keep a light right foot, always cruising at 60 ish or less, so the last couple of trips have kept the cruising speed to 50-55 mph and the mpg has crept up to 30 ish. i compare the mpg to our last van rapido 690 2.3 130bhp which when driven with light right foot easily returned 30-33mpg, probably down to the aerodynamics

Ours is a 150 with Comformatic 4500kg chassis running at 4000kg. Last trip we got 25 mpg over 3500 miles very pleased with it, mountainous area it can drop to 22 quite happy with that.

We have a 2.3 130 Euro 6 comfortmatic A class (small) Hymer. We were disappointed to only get a bit over 29mpg on our recent trip of 3200ish miles to Spain and back. We were driving just over HGV speeds, no toll roads. I was sure we would crack 30....but no! :(
