Our Phantom alarm/tracker is powered from the OBD2 port.
Check that the plug hasn't been accidently pulled out.
The tracker may still be working as it has a back up battery.

Hi MalcMc had the same with my Phantom Tracker (not exactly same model though) Rang their tech support and was told to unplug from OBD port and leave for 30 secs then refit. Did this and all was back to normal. Hope this is of help.

No alarm should be plugged into the OBDP

It is not compliant with Thatcham, it’s stupidly easy to unplug, its laziness or lack of skill on the installers part, and the plug was never intended to be used for anything other than diagnostics which is why it’s so easily accessible

Just checked my OBD port and pleased to see it empty. Useful to know it affects the Thatcham status which is what my insurer requires for their tracker discount. Some insurers make a Thatcham alarm and/or tracker a condition of insurance so perhaps we should all be checking for compliant installation.

Everyone should ask upfront when their dealer or a mobile alarm fitter is being considered "Will it be plugged into the On Board Diagnostic Port (OBDP)

If the answer is "yes" refuse the installation, as the product may be Thatcham listed, but the installation will be non compliant and consequently if the installation is a condition of insurance, you will be potentially uninsured, certainly in a theft situation.

Now in the real world, and insurance company is unlikely to be able to find out, but, why take that chance, simply to make the dealer or the mobile installers life easier?

I had no idea until today that the OBD was ever used for this purpose. Useful to know.

Phantom claim that all their products are Thatcham approved.
The OBD2 connection appears to be part of the Phantom wiring loom and not something that the installer has fitted.
There are only 4 wires going into the OBD2 connection. I wonder if there are also other hard wired connections elsewhere
and the OBD2 port is only used to supply certain information to the alarm?
I may send an email to Phantom to see what they have to say about this.
