Why is getting the correct oil complicated (for me anyhow).
Fiat 2.3 180 2019 model. Specification in the manual says
SAE 0W-30 ACEA C2
spec 9.55535-DS1
Nearest I can find for a top up is
FE 5-30 ACEA C2
API SN
Spec meets Fiat 9.55535 S1
No idea if it’s okay or not - any professional feedback gratefully received.
Not sure how to switch the underline off!
Not sure who I am anymore!

2019 and it needs topping up?
Or do you just want a liter in case.
Just type oil spec into google - loads available.

Any motor factors will stock a suitable oil

Just bought mine (5w30Selenia) from shop4parts,cheaper than Grays garage and free delivery. They stock all original parts for Fiat. Put in your oil Fiat part number and they will say if they stock

i second Shop4parts as good source for Selenia WR 5 .. 30, good price

Providing it is ACEA C2 & 0W-30 it should be fine.

sell the Fiat/Petronas oil at a good price.
Sorry forgot to mention in France and choice at forecourt is not good.

Where do you get Greys price ? I just checked £59.20 inc delivery for 6 litres against £55.20 inc delivery from Shop4Parts. Always looking to get correct oil at good price(y)

2 Lt from Greys was just under £20 inc. postage, from shop4Parts it was £29.95 (inc. £7.45 postage).

It's the postage then, I wanted 6 litres so Greys add £7.80 postage where shp4parts gave free postage over £50. Worth cross checking though (y)

ACEA C2 is easy enough to find but it's the spec you need to be careful of.
The D1 and DS1 could be the difference between something like low Ash and standard oil and one or the other not suitable for a DPF.
spec 9.55535-DS1 will have been developed for your particular engine.
spec 9.55535-D1 will have been developed for a different engine.
Another reason I do my own oil services.
Independent garages chuck in whatever oil they have in their bulk tank.

Thank you. Now I am clear.

I too had difficulty purchasing the correct recommended oil as specified by Fiat in the Handbook.
Not cheap but seriously developed oil and as specified.

Petronas Selenia WR Forward SAE 0W-30 ACEA C2 Oil; 2 litre Pack - Euro 6 Diesel Engines. Amazon product ASIN B0725VVNHC

I doubt you’ll find a Fiat Professional garage using that, we’ve had our Euro 5 (2014) serviced from new by Fiat Professional and they use Fuchs Titan.

My Fiat Commercial Garage of choice has no problem with me providing the Oil I believe in putting the best in the engine.

Littlewheels Petronas Selena is no doubt a very good oil, though no better than Fuchs, Castrol, Valvoline, Millers, ect ect and all the other major oil companies. It’s recommended by Fiat because of the sponsorship tie up between the two companies just like all the other motor manufacturers.
Fiat are very happy for Fuchs to be used otherwise garages wouldn’t keep their Fiat Professional status.

Fine in a pinch for a top-up, but it really should be the 955535-DS1 spec. Using the wrong spec oil could severly reduce the longevity of the DPF.

Several companies make oils that comply to the 955535-DS1 standard.

That’s your opinion, however,I was responding to the OP,s enquiry and in the meantime I will keep on making my own choice and that will be Petronas.

Just found this old thread when checking about Ducato oil.
You need to be careful with Selenia oil as it's easy to misread what is required.
From what I understand the Euro 5 and later engines must use Selenia WR Forward oil which is a 0w-30 and that is what Grays sell at a very good price - around £10-00 litre.
The WR 5w30 sold by Shop4parts (who I've also used) is not the same stuff as WR Forward and should something nasty happen, it's use could invalidate your warranty.

I've not needed to change mine yet as it's only done 14k miles. Warranty will run out before I change it at 16k.
I buy Fiat specification Rock oil 5/30 from Home Bargains for £24/5ltr. It used to be £18/5lrs.

But Shop4parts do not stock or sell 0w/30 WR Forward - I know because I asked them.
The price may be good, but the oil is wrong.
