away for 90 days France third day in A/C not working owned van from new. Just had the re gas as not been done and now 6 years old (first thing to try?) no good garage suspects wiring fault/compressor ? Have a good code reader result is showing Active, Air Conditioner Compressor Relay - Circuit Open
AI says check Fuse F19 and relay T05. Will do when it stops raining !!! Any suggestions please

Many thanks will have a look tomorrow

Does the light come on?
What is the pressure?
Do you have the "clip" connecting the high & low pressure lines? Check engine right at back (where the fillers are) and see if the lower pipe is high or touching the O2 sensor (and melted it :( )

Can you hear the clutch on the compressor kick in? Does the light work on the button.

As Landy Andy mentions, you should hear a clunk as the clutch on the air compressor engages.
Then the ac fan behind the radiator should cycle on and off , this can be heard quite distinctly.
I was lucky on mine. I think the expansion valve had debris in it or was stuck.
I gave it a sharp rap with a hammer and my ac was working again.
The expansion valve is the rectangular aluminium unit fixed on the the firewall near the pressure ports.
Might be worth a try.

The fill valves can stick and leak. Check the caps foe pressure or oil residue. Mine was leaking from new the shraeder valve had been put in cross threaded. Luckily it was refitted and ok. We just regas every 2 years.

Thank you for your suggestions, I had the system re gas yesterday but no luck, using my i Carsoft reader it read

Air Conditioner Compressor Relay Circuit Open. According to AI check fuse F19 and relay (T05) so as it had stopped raining this morning did so. Lifted the under bonnet fuse box cover checked fuse 19 all good. But and this is the strange one relay (T05) is missing. Now we have owned this van from new returning from Portugal early this year a/c was fine as it has from new. Having temp used another relay the is a definite click and a change in engine noise but as its cold at the moment difficulty to tell if the air is colder but I think it is. Going to get a relay later. The question is why is there no relay in T05 a/c has always worked. Is there another relay used but makes no sense.

:D lol

"Air Conditioner Compressor Relay Circuit Open" does suggest failed (missing!!!!) relay, fuse, wiring issue rather than my previous suggestion.

On a previous van, a "ghost" swapped over the vacuum pipes between EGR and VNT inside a shealth across the top of the engine. Took a long time to diagnose but 100% it was swapped by someone. Van out of my sight twice, once for a bodywork repair, and once for new brake cylinder. Both places denied everything. But someone did. Point being, trust no one to "borrow" it if van has been outside your eyesight.

As posted above. whoever regassed it removed the relay ? No idea why ?
You go back, its broken, "ok let us fix it".... "it was the flux capacitor broken we had to replace - thats £500 please"

I was there to whole time during the re gas the cover wasn’t touched ?

Had a result went to a Fiat main dealer showed him a picture of the same type of relay, he went out the back brought back one put it in all working 🤣😁😂

Result. Standard relay? I do carry a spare standard one....

But roll back the memory - who nicked the old one? May not have been at last regas......
