Caravan accessory shops usually have them not sure of the makes but I'm sure they will be up to the job

There are certainly at least 2 types for Fiamma as we've got both! The cheaper fixed length one (image 1) and a much stronger telescopic one (image 2):

This is an ad for a telescopic one:

SNAP broke ours a few weeks ago in Spain. The handle has snapped where they have cut the grove for the small handle retaining clip. Put mine over my knee and bent the end over at 45 degrees so I could use it and then bought a non extending one.

The simple non extending one is far stronger than the extendable one. The extendable one certainly has a design fault.

since 2014!
We had our awning replaced at Johns Cross a few months ago, and declined their offer of the new winder, because the old one was still fine.

You might try asking them if they have anything to repair/replace your broken winder. The workshop staff are all very friendly and helpful.....come to think of it, ALL their staff are very friendly and helpful.

And, of course, you get a Funster discount!!!

Check out C&A plastics Gillingham, I have a feeling they sell them for their conservatory roof windows and cheaper. They might have a brochure on line. Can't be much more help as away in Holland.

I'm going to go with the non extendable one as think I'm going to get the same problem again as the amount of pressure on the joint trying to unwind a 4.5mtr roof awning is quite considerable

I've got one of the old small non-extending winders, which apparently Fiamma don't make anymore. Crap. It's broken at least three times, but thanks to some advice from this forum and my dad's mechanical skills (I'm useless) I now have a Franken-winder with various lengths of copper piping glued in place. Fingers crossed it's worked fine for a few years and saves me having to buy one of the longer models which is a joke for the size of my awning.

Total junk.

We have Fiamma awnings on our work vans, and I can assure you the non extending handles break every five years (approx), perhaps they get a bit more use then the average Moho, but they are poor quality failing long before the awning does.

I'm confused! The extending one is much more robust than the non-extending one as it doesn't have the silly joints, this is the extending one which is what we use with a large awning without a problem:

There are lots of people who sell 'non-Fiamma' ones for use for a whole host of different types of awning etc, you just have to make sure the hook isn't too big go to through the 'hoop' on the awning.

I have to agree with Minxy. We have had both handle types with different vans and the extending type without the silly joint is not just more robust, its easier to wind the awning quickly. Its almost impossible to wind your awning in quickly with the the "floppy joint" non extending one.

Just sent the bent handle back and was looking around for a replacement, went onto @Johns_Cross_Motorhomes website and quick calculation even using Fun discount would be cheaper/easier to buy off their Ebay site due to free postage. My problem is that on both sites there isn't a clear picture of the handle. I want the one in minxs second photo as the other one made of putty doesn't seem fit for purpose.

I've now glued mine together with gorilla glue and it's holding at the mo. And I plan to bolt the two bits together when I'm back home

You do know that that part is supposed to be loose don't you so the bar inside can rotate ... how on earth did you break it?

Mine snapped off a few years ago but I just put a bend in the piece that was left and it works fine.
