I believe the F45ti is the older model and has been replaced with the F45s The F45s has improved operation and the tie down straps can be fitted on the front panel with slide in brackets.Just my opinion but a better unit than the F45ti.::bigsmile:

My F45i (older than Ti I think) accepts tie downs in the front panel. Do you mean there is a further groove? so windblockers will fit without cutting bits out for the tie downs

I think the S model fits on top of the roof as opposed to the Ti that fits on the side.

Back onto topic...

My old van had the 45i awning and my new van has the 45s awning.

The knuckle at the top of the support legs are a nicer design, giving a smoother action when taking the poles out of the front extrusion. The cable-sprung arms that support the awning seem to located at closer centres.

The tie-down kit still fits the slot in the front extrusion. The side panels on the new Privacy Room has sown-in straps for attaching the tie-down kit.

I used a privacy room on my old awning and have been able to re-use this on the F45s by modifying one end of the clip system with the Dremmel and using the Omistor brackets (kept in a bag for several years) to provide support on the van end. It's not perfect but it's pretty close.
