We currently have a Fiamma Zip awning on our 10 year old van that's getting to be a nightmare to retract. It take a lot of in-out, fast-slow, thump in the right place efforts to get it all the way in!

We want to replace it, probably with a F45L. Does anyone know if we can use the existing rail/brackets? Is the Thule/Ominstor better or is there another make we haven't heard of?

We found a good deal for a Fiamma with Jacksons Leisure Supplies but they have very mixed reviews. Have any Funsters had experiences with them?

Finally, we have the Zip safari room for sale if anyone's interested. It came with the van when we bought it 6 years ago and have only used it twice.

Cheers,
Jill

I've had both Fiamma and Omnistor on different vans. Omnistor are thought to be of higher quality but I can't say I've noticed any real difference. I don't know what you mean by 'rail' but "hook-in" Fiamma brackets will fit another Fiamma awning.
