My Fiamma Roll Out Awning is creaking and groaning a bit when winding it in and out. There's no reference in the instruction manual to lubrication but is it something I should be doing, and if so, to which bits?

Phil,
Take care. I lightly greased mine and it has marked the material.
I'd suggest that you make absolutely sure that they should be greased, and what with, before trying anything.
BTW mine still creaks and groans.

Hi Phil

Mine is an Omnistor & that does exactly the same. As it was new when I got it I imagine that was what it does.

Like Sandy said I would keep oil & grease away from any parts that could come into contact with the fabric. :thumb:

Hi,

They should be silent in operation, try some 3 in 1 oil or WD40 in the awning arms where they articulate, you can see the cables in the join, also some silicon spray on the gearbox.

Thanks, guys. My worry was putting it in the wrong place and marking the fabric. I'll have to investigate a bit more and see exactly where the noise is coming from.
