You do realise that you don't have to charter the entire boat don't you?

Hello Storm123. The prices we are paying are far less than £300. Where are you sailing from?
May I also congratulate your Motorhome on its two offspring. Wow indeed!

No idea if this is the best site to use, it probably isn't. I don't book ferries, we use the tunnel.

As you are new to motorhoming, may I mention that if you can collect Tesco points, when booking a tunnel crossing, the points are worth three times their value. This can make the fairly pricey but very quick crossing, either free or much cheaper than the ferry.

Try Dover to Calais sailing on a weekday first thing in the morning, and book directly on the P&O and DFDS websites. Returns aren't always cheaper than two singles with different companies.

Also look into DFDS Dunkerque - Dover early crossing for the return journey, stopping overnight at the Gravelines aire.

July will cost more and early booking always helps, but we've taken a 7m MH there and back for less than £100 in spring.

Here you go, drive down to Dover overnight with minimal traffic and go as early as tomorrow with P & O for £46.80 one way for a MH 8m x 3m

Our son & his daughter are coming over mid-July in their van for £134.60 return, Newhaven/Dieppe. The same crossing would cost me £107.68 (20% off for ol'geysers)

Which port are you sailing from? Sounds as if it might be one of the longer crossings??? From Dover to Calais or Dunkirk it is much cheaper than £300 more like £100 or there abouts.
