Try Irish Ferry’s they start in Dover from June, they might have special deals, The waiting time in Dover is quite long as they are checking all passports and stamping at the french customers ,I was taking over a truck took 4hours ,but the food was free

We too always used to consider the ferry crossing to Calais as the enjoyable (& fairly cheap) start to any Europe trip, but when I checked Puke 'n' Horrible's prices a few weeks ago, they had gone up by a good 25% on last year.
What surprised me more was that for a little over £100 one way, we could take the Shuttle and avoid any contact risk at all. Maybe they have crept up too?
Still hoping that we might be able to get over to visit my sister near Poitier May/June, but I admit that some of the "90 Day Returners" horror stories just recently have shook me up a bit and made the idea rather less appealing. CB.
