As P&O is the only operator on this crossing, I guess they have it pretty much sown up. Cheapest I found was £474.00 for a 8.5m long van and 3.3m high. Any-one found a better price?

Just worked it out using Microsoft Autoroute, that with the correct settings, I can drive from Calais to Bilbao for £167.00 in fuel, which is 745 miles and avoiding toll roads. Quite a saving as time is not of the essence. I realise that wear and tear has to be considered as well but even with a couple of campsites or Aires on route, that's still good I think.

I voted with my CC last month, Dover/Calais rather then Bilao.

Not only cheaper but added holiday :)

Hi Jacken
We also found the same price for P&O to Bilbao and are considering going France route. Can i ask how many miles to the gallon you do.
Cheers
