Received an email today from Brittany Ferries confirming that the Normandie will be withdrawn from its operation as a passenger ferry from January 1st and will only carry freight. Subsequently there will be no dog friendly cabins on the Portsmouth - Caen replacement ferry and dogs will have to remain within your vehicle for the duration of the sailing (6-7hrs). Looks like we will have to revert to the tunnel next year.
