We have booked our first overseas trip, Hull to Rotterdam returning two weeks later (first two of Aug). We are thinking Denmark but would like to see bits of the Netherlands and Germany on the way. Any recommendations for do's and don'ts? Any must see places or great campsites? Taking bikes so we can spoke out ('scuse the pun  ) from any camping spots. Thanks

A visit to Amsterdam a must if you have never been, but I cannot help with places to stay there. Travelling in towards Denmark, we very much enjoyed Lübeck and Kiel on the German Baltic coast. We stayed in a central stellplatz for Lübeck, at the time 10 € per night, free on Sundays, we were at Kiel when the annual sailing regatta was on so we had a campsite further out towards the end of the fjord. However there is a hop on hop off boat service that cross crosses the fjord down it’s length for 9€ full day ticket.

Amsterdam Camp a good Aire with EHU with a free ferry about 200 metres away which takes you into the heart of the city.
