Does anyone know anything about Euroferries' new service from Ramsgate starting in November?? Apparently it has been announced several times and this is the latest projected date...

I thought it was a scam and they do not have a vessel. Someone else has also started advertising a service from Weymouth and they also do not have a vessel. All sounds too familiar. Don't hold your breath about either service ever coming to fruition.

It says they have a vessel but to cater for passengers,cars and luxury coaches no mention of motorhomes

This is what wiki says about the Nova Star;
The vessel has 163 cabins, consisting of variations of suites, ocean view cabins, interior cabins, and wheelchair-accessible cabins. There are also 254 individually assigned (reserved) recliner seats to use as a place for rest or sleeping. The vessel has capacity for 1,215 passengers and also contains 11 kennels for dogs and 12 kennels forcats. Pets are only allowed to be carried onboard in these kennels and cannot remain onboard vehicles. Service animals are allowed on all passenger decks and in passenger cabins.

The vessel can carry 336 car-equivalents and/or 38 commercial vehicles (semi-trailer rigs or buses) and commensurately fewer cars.[3]

Euroferries do not have an agreement with the owners of Ramsgate port. The proposal has been kicked around for 6 years. Initially a super new high speed vessel was to be used. Now they say a vessel used during the summer in Nova Scotia will be used during winter months in UK.
I am very sceptical but only time will tell. I would certainly not part with any money for a reservation until the service is up and running.

Its a cruise ferry not perhaps the most suitable vessel for ramsgate Boulogne - 2 1/2 hours journey? its not fast either then? and Thanet council are quoted as ' nothing to do with us guv!'

Anyone else miss Speedferries?

I am wondering why Boulogne is not being used as a port whilst the issues continue in Calais.

Having said that, the buildings and ramps looked to have fallen into disrepair when we last visited in 2012
