Whilst we were away for a few months we left our MH parked in our drive, one of my neighbours decided to spray his garden fence near the van. One side is now slightly speckled with grey Ronseal fence paint. Some spots are on the light grey body, some on the plastic windows, some on the plastic wheel arches and body parts and some on the decals. Can anyone advise what I can use to remove the spots without damaging the surfaces?

PS. It's the side of the van shown in my avatar.

😡 think it’s going to be a pain, especially on the windows.

I would ask my neighbour to pay a body shop to get it sorted. It was his fault for not ensuring the over spray did not do damage to other people property.

Had this problem with a car a couple of years ago. Have a look on Detailing World and they have suggestions.

I used a clay mitt which worked really well. Link below.

A few tips and ideas on YouTube that might help.

I would use a clay mitt, but keep it well lubricated with plenty of water,

Thanks for the idea. Will it scratch the paintwork or plastic?

No it won’t, but get a decent one Farecia G3 is the one I use, and it’s brilliant,,as I said, use plenty of water and don’t let it marr 👍

I don’t think you will need a polish,, the mitt just takes off any crap on the surface of the topcoat, so when done, just use what you normally would,

At Falmouth dockyard we occasionally had to pay compensation to owners of parked cars after spraying the P&O ferries in for refit in dry dock using cherry pickers. If their was the slightest breeze their cars received a charming spattering of blue and white 'Pride of.........' paint.
Your neighbour's insurance should pick up the tab for a professional clean.

In addition to earlier,,don’t get polish and wax mixed up,, polish will not protect the paint, but wax does,, so give it a good wax over 👍

Son in law sprayed their fence with wood treatment.......and all the cars in the church carpark the other side of the fence.
He had to pay for every one that got over-sprayed to be sorted.

Shmbo did it a few years ago to a neighbours car, only solution was a machine polish in a body shop

Fence paint is normally water based, if so it does come off without marking, I got some brown fence treatment on my previous motorhome ( my doing ). Unfortunately it can take some time.

Thanks to those that have suggested my neighbour should pay. I have already spoken with him and he was very reasonable about it, accepted liability and agreed to pay, however, we don't really have anywhere near to get a truly professional job done so I will give it a go myself. Thanks all for your advice.

If it's not sorted by Jan 2024 I'll give it a good polish at Turiscampo 😀😀
