Have only driven short distances before but just shows when needs must !!!

Well done you .... bet from now on you will be saying you want to do it all the time. :)

Did say it has to be a regular occurrence now as don't want to lose my confidence !! But need to work on my reversing lol

Yes, my reversing needs work on it I must admit.

I need one of those warning sounds " Beware, this idiot is reversing, Beware, this idiot is reversing"

Well done.:D2 I drive our MH but its only 6.5 m. Will be driving in France for the first time next week.

It will be much easier in France then here.... just take your time and let them overtake when they want to, the French are more forgiving being stuck behind a Motorhome.... when a queue forms behind me and I come to a roundabout I go right around and that lets a few past..(y)

Well done. My wife does drive ours, but only when needs must.

Once you get thee hang of reversing you should start trying it with a trailer on the back. The easiest to reverse are the longer ones. A short distance between the hitch and the trailer axle makes life much more difficult.

We had the trailer and as a bike trailer is short distance is nearly impossible

Long time
I have only just driven our right RHD car in France.
I have driven our LHD Hymer in UK once but never in France.
The problem is-I think- that I worry about damaging it!
The fact that it is our home means that damaging it is disastrous and also that it's not always feasible to just go and 'play' in an empty car park!

Well done, keep it up:) Hope your husband is well soon.

You can share the driving then (or argue about who's going to drive:D2)

Well done. I was forced in to driving the mh (thankfully without a trailer) when John was taken ill in Germany and had to drive it back to the UK. It wasn't nearly as scary as I'd imagined it would be but I do wish I'd bothered to drive it earlier. In hindsight I'd say thee best thing is to do the CC course. It is just a confidence thing.

Well done Pam. Hope Bill is alright.
As you know he had his cataracts done last year which has been excellent but on Sunday afternoon he got a problem with his good eye ( i.e. the one that didn't have the detached retina before) so driving was impossible so home we are with an appointment in Limoges Monday am . Thank god for the french health system so quick !!

Can't wait to drive Flo.....but I will need to gag and handcuff Steve to the table leg before he will let me. Just to add...this statement says more about his need to be in control at all times, than it does about my driving!! ........honest!

On and off for many years.
Well done on your baptism of fire and I hope all goes well with Bill's appointment.

I drove our second motorhome (27ft long) all through France and Spain and wherever else our daughter had a competition as due to her age she had to have a chaperone.

I will need to gag and handcuff Steve to the table leg
Far too much information.......

Very well done as for the trailer reversing do it very slowly and if you have one use your rear view camera.I switch between long range and close and find it really useful(y)(y)(y)(y)
With wing mirrors as well of course.
