Lots but slow learner.
The full story will out when it's sorted
BUT
Still waiting for our brand new MH collected last Saturday and broke down after doing the massive mileage of 15 miles.
No idea when we will get it back
To say it's frustrating is.............well frustrating.

Cor blimey,that’s a bugger!

Hope it’s sorted soon.

I'm sorry you re having hassle but I don't understand why people buy new ones, there's far too much to go wrong with them, buy an older one, you get more for your money and if it does go wrong you stand half a chance of fixing it.

Quite simply we could not find a used one with the layout we wanted. I would have been quite happy with a 1 or 2 year old. Even the new one we bought was not available used. Strange but fact.
Spose the new warranty is a little comfort as i am useless at fixing things.
AND if you can why not. Having said that it is highly unlikely i will ever buy another new car.

I don't understand why people buy 2nd hand when if you put a couple of grand to it you can get brand new instead of 10 years old. No brainer IMO 😊

Far too complicated, mostly by stuff that doesnt increase your enjoyment and generally made lighter and ergo flimsier.

The only way I'm ever going to see 'limp mode' is if I stub my toe on the step and I'm more likely to break my toe than the step.

Putting a couple of grand to it buys an even better second-hand one. The most frustrated posts and the longest-running sagas on the Forum appear to relate to problems with warranties and new-vehicle faults. Warranties on second-hand are usually insurance-based and easier to invoke (albeit shorter) than those of the OEM. And often the vehicle has all the "usual" accessories already installed.

Because they want to and can do Jon, you know I get your point 100% and love stuff like yours but we love our "new van" as well ;)

Too many dog hairs in second hand ones!

That's bad luck indeed. Have they diagnosed the problem yet or is it still in the garage being assessed.

Been in the garage since last Saturday. One phone call on Monday to say it was being "looked at", nowt since.

Fingers crossed that you get it sorted soon Bob as you must be desperate to get on the road and off adventuring again.

All the best,

Andrew

I know your pain-

5 miles I find it's got a speed limiter

10miles I fill up and it's got a 4.1t plate oops I can't drive the thing...

100 miles dpf blocks.

So nearer £1k later it's fixed and running well .

Cheers James

People buy new motorhomes for many different reasons and if they didn't there would not be the used vehicles on the market for them that want them!

Because it is new :-) No dogs , no smokers and the bed etc is new .

New or old purchase, go for what you want, what fulfils your requirements and what you can afford.

What is an absolute bugger is when it breaks on you. I really feel for you!

something brand new shouldn’t and if it does, it should be repaired ASAP AND the repair should leave you feeling confident that it actually has been sorted and that other issues don’t start to arise.

Our new MH base vehicle was fine as far as the mechanics go. It was the bit’s that made the Motorhome that weren’t completed, fell apart, flew of the vehicle at high speed etc etc, all supposedly new and checked. It leaves a real bad taste in the mouth.

in the end we insisted on a brand new MH replacement which we got fairly quickly as we totally lost confidence in that particular unit.

I hope it is the type of problem that is isolated and doesn’t / won’t affect other parts. If you have that niggling feeling that you no longer trust it, not good.

good luck.

Something worse than a Autotrail apparently.
Presume the breakdown is relevant to the base vehicle rather than the converter?

In which case the converter is irrelevant, or am I wrong?

Either way, I feel for you, very frustrating.
