We have just reached Portugal after a few weeks in Spain. As soon as we hit the Aires and camp sites along the coast in Portugal we found that every where we went was full. So we decided to travel in land. We were more than pleased when we found this Motorhome camp site, only about ten miles in land. Really recommend this site it has every thing you would want and more.

MOTORHOME ECO PARK @ SAO BRAS DE ALPORTEL.

Most places have water and electricity on your pitch. Brilliant service area so easy to drive over.
Pitch fee with electric 11e pn. very clean showers 1e. Washing Machine and Dryer at cost. Bread man in morning . Lots of walks and cycle paths.

We will be back here again.

Lovely area, take a ride into the mountains and look for the cork oaks. When OH worked for Flybe we took flights to Faro, and booked a lovely villa near Estoi, worth a visit to the archaeology site there, and if you like fish you have to pay a visit to Olhao, one huge market hall just for fish, another the same size for everything else

Just up the road from Estoi. My sister in law had a villa just outside Estoi which my wife took the bookings for and we visited every March for a pre-season shakedown!

Can recommend the roman ruins as already mentioned. Faro beach is great.

Spent many weeks in estoi had a friend who had a villa there, sadly passed away now and the villa has been sold so don't think we will be going again but loved it around there,
If looking for a brilliant meal in SAO BRAS DE ALPORTEL, ask anyone for chicken Georges, authentic Portuguese fare as well as all sorts of chicken at very reasonable price.

Not had a problem getting on any campsite in Tavira or at Olhao where we are now.

We had a week at Alportel just recently. Really excellent site. Not so much within walking distance but some good cycling.

There is another great Aire in Alportel in the centre next door to Lidl. Stayed there for 3 nights last week. Very help manager. Site is called Live on wheels and is on Campercontact.

Hi.
On an earlier post,a funster had said how full the sites where down there, but soon ( fortnight?) the Dutch etc will be returning home. It was enough for us to put back plans to go down this coming Monday 27th?. Plenty of room at Municipal Campismo. Praia de Mira,so might end up there for a couple of nights after finishing off a few jobs i would have put on hold.
Tea Bag.

We are off grid at Fuseta tonight. Not had a problem with any sites as long as you arrive early, especially Tavira and Silves. We are mainly wilding though. Touch wood, the GNR have been low key.

If you don't need fancy facilities, look out for football grounds most of them in Portugal have MH parking areas.
