Faulty Indicator (1 Viewer)

First post, so hope this is OK!
I have a 2012 Swift Bolero 722FB on a Fiat Ducato base vehicle, which has developed an indicator problem. The left-hand indicators are working fine, as are the hazard flashers, but when I indicate to the right, the external lights flash once and then stop. When they stop, the dashboard light flashes rapidly. Any clues as to what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated.

Hazards are working and all right hand bulbs (front, wing mirror and rear) flash once before stopping, so think the bulbs are OK.

It will be a bad bulb or connection causing canbus system to shut that side down

Do you have a towbar? I've seen similar erratic behaviour when there was water in the towbar socket.

No towbar Tigger-Tim.

In that case, I'd suspect a bulb or an earth at a bulb socket.

I had a problem on an Italian car with can bus - someone out the incorrect bulb type into a sde light and it caused all sorts of issues - once found and corrected it all went away! Check bulb wattage and types plugged in.

I had have this problem and it seems to be the fitting of the bulb. When I take the bulb out, clean the socket with connector spray all is well for several months.

Do you have a towbar? I've seen similar erratic behaviour when there was water in the towbar socket.

I've had exactly that problem on my Ford Ranger works vehicle.

All bulbs checked and are working. I've changed the indicator bulbs, in any case, and sprayed the contacts, all to no avail. Auto-electrician booked in for a visit tomorrow. Will update after that.
