We are due to collect our IH630RD on Thursday for our trip to Spain on 20th October. Yes, we know we’re daft.
Nick entered the VIN number on the Fiat website just to check re the warranty malarky and it is 3 years. One of those Red warnings came up, oh dear. Contacted IH who contacted their supplier who hadn’t been notified by Fiat. They investigated and apparently it is “ a brake hose clip that needs replacing as if it breaks the brake hose can move and may wear out more quickly “. This was IH from the Northern Commercials. IH know if Northern Commercials can do it before Thursday and said we could get it done locally if we like. I have said I want them to sort it. I don’t really know whether it’s one of those “must do now” problems or “get done soonish” problems. We have previous experience on warranty work of having to wait weeks for parts.
There is nothing on the DVLA or GoV website about this recall so I was thinking if they cant get it done to just carry on and get it done after our hols. If Nick had not checked re the warranty we would have been oblivious.
There are loads of mechanical folk so advice please? If we weren’t going on hols we’d obviously leave it with them. Our other option is to leave it with them anyway but annoyingly we registered it from the 1st October to increase the chance of the V5 arriving so the warranty is of course now ticking!
