So I’m planning a 2020 week long trip with wider family, given we shall be travelling with a 7 year old and a 2 year old I’ll be limiting to France distance to being as close to Calais I can get.

Family fun being the priority, beach would be super. Shirt drive/ bus to somewhere for mooching around and sightseeing

I’ve stayed at La Bien Assise before which was smart, nice facilities so it’s an option

Over to you guys to share your ideas all
(y):D2

Fantastic really appreciate it thank you

You could consider going the other way at Calais - Belgium has some nice seaside towns.

I’ve not stayed on a site but Knokke Heist was nice when I last visited. Have a look at Camping Holiday Village Knokke. Also, De Panne was nice and that had a few sites. If you google both places, I’m sure you‘ll be able to find a suitable site.

Camping Les Auberpines Nr Le Crotoy about 1 hr south of Calais. Cracking little family run site with indoor and outdoor pool. Beach about 10 mins walk away and steam trains around the bay.

We go to this site a lot usually for a night on the way out and a couple of nights before coming home. Sometimes we go and stay for a weekend, long weekend, week and come home again.

Great site, we're here now, restaurant, bar, pool all on site. very friendly and clean. not much outside the site apart from lovely country side and farms. definitely recommend

We stayed on a campsite in Calais, can't remember name but , it's near Charles de Gaull avenue or road in french, 15 minutes walk from centre, update "Camping le grot (something) but when we got there they have changed name !! Also about 5 minutes from sea front, 10 minutes to port we tried to get earlier ferry so aloud 1.5 hours wasn't enough time as queues and 3 passport checks ,sorry about discription.

Le Crotoy, is 1.5 hrs south from Calais. A nice seaside town with good beaches and nature walks. There is also a steam train journey. A massive aire with facilities (no EHU I think) we use it as our last stop before crossing back. We are looking forward to taking our train mad grandson when he is a bit older.
