Hi we are thinking off going there in sept ,has anyone been there? if so what did you think off it,we are looking at taking the motor bike on the back and using it to get around the lakes, thanks Chris
We spent 4 nights there over last weekend, our 3rd visit. It is only 2 minutes walk from the centre of Bowness and the edge of the lake. Bowness has lots of places to eat and enjoy a relaxing drink (or two!) Fallbarrow park has a shop/cafe serving snacks/breakfast and a clubhouse which has been updated since our previous visit. There is a bar with SKY tv's, a games/amusemant area and also serves bar snacks (can't comment on quality as we did not eat there). Also, which we had not seen before or seen advertised is a full size snooker table and an 'over 21's' lounge off the bar with a log burning fire and leather settee's. The toilets/showers, 2 blocks, were clean and have a code to enter. There is also an outdoor childrens play area. The number of pitches has been reduced over the last 2 years, prob only approx 25 now although they are all fully serviced. The park seems to be building more log cabins, at 'only' £320,000 a go!!! Hopefully they won't reduce the pitch numbers any more as it is sometimes difficult to book now. Hope this helps, Paul.
We own a Lodge at fallbarrow and have done for 4 1/2 years. It's on the market but no takers at the moment, it's not in the £350,000 class ( the dearest on site is £650,00). The site is ideally based for travelling around, Bowness centre is great for bars and restaurants, our favourite is Rastelli's across from the cinema.
Facility's on the site are very good, if we havn't sold by then we could be there at Treetops 7.
If anybody wants to buy a lodge it's on the market at £125,000 but a deal is always available.
