We go to France (and beyond) five or six times a year. Living in Eastbourne makes it quite a convenient option. We often take the tunnel (Tesco vouchers) but sometimes the ferry too.
We just found through a bit if research that if you are travelling south - it now makes sense to take the LD Lines, Newhaven Dieppe ferry which is only 20 minutes from home. The fuel saving is approximately £73 and the ferry is quite reasonable if you work out the cheaper times and get the OAP discount!
There's a decent aire in Dieppe too.
So, we are planning a short stay in Dieppe in a couple of weeks. We could ofcourse stay in a hotel but none is as good as staying in our van!
