In May we are going to a fully serviced site in Cornwall for a week and I would like to plumb my grey waste directly into the drain.

Does anyone use this set up? Is it any good or should I be thinking of another option. My grey waste outlet is situated just by side of hab door.

Any advise greatly appreciated.👍

I went to my local caravan accessories shop and purchased a length of the grey pipe. I also have a couple of waste pipe elbows (45 & 90 degrees) to use at the drain end to stop the bulge/back flow caused by just poking the pipe down the hole.

Yes I use it and it is an improvement over traditional waste pipes that are bulky and hard to clean or dry. The tapered adaptor fits good, also I can use a single pipe to run to a waste master container . I managed to get a set of 8 pipes for £30 unused on gumtree a couple of weeks ago

Bargain I’ll have a hunt around

Hi, yes I use the very same kit if we stop on a fully serviced pitch. I also bought an extra length so that It makes it to the rear of the MH and into the drain. Very good and when finished I just run cold water through to clean them and then fold them in and put then away.

One last question 4M or 8M??

sorry I am a cheapskate I use a vacuum cleaner extending hose, 1.5m extends to near 9m. Cost under £15 on ebay and fits well. Run fresh through it to clean before contracting and storing away

Most of these expensive solutions have been done before and the designer takes the same type of pipe, gives it a name and a big price tag

Fair point and to be honest I was thinking along those lines. Do you use a jubilee clip to attach to the wast pipe?
At that price you can afford to change every year!

The proper grey waste pipe is around £1.50 per meter, I coil it up to store it, think I got around 6 meters and the size is just right to push on to the waste tap without a clip to hold it.

Like the idea of the vacuum pipe if the diameter was similar.

as it happens, on my van the fitted end is a push fit on the outlet of the tank. Otherwise a visit to the aquarium and pond shop up the road and they have all manner of adaptors and pipe way cheaper than a caravan/motorhome accessory place

Have you checked the diameter of the waste pipe on your van? The kit you are looking at is only 29.5mm dia, whereas some waste outlets are larger, Ours is 40mm dia & I have 10m extension tube with bends and joiners which I coil after use and connect the ends so no water or smell gets into the van.

Me too had to make an adaptor to fit my 40mm waste pipe.
Henry 9m extension hose

Colapz also do this adaptor https://colapz.co.uk/collections/all-products/products/flexi-waste-pipe-adaptor which fits to the set above - we have one but haven't tried it on the outlet yet. We have a 10% Fun discount code for Colapz products too https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...scount-code-for-motorhome-fun-members.231195/

We have this kind of extendable (80cm-250cm) hose at present https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/27301885...d=link&campid=5338547443&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 which works ok & cheap to buy but may be difficult to keep clean over time:

I use a a lay flat hose
A bit of fiddling with adapters.
Works well as long as these a bit of fall.

I use 40mm corrugated hose in specific lengths which can be joined with plastic grey tubing to make different lengths. Ebay is the place.

I use the Colapz kit and find it very useful. Stores away neatly in it’s bag when not in use, extends to the exact length you need, pipes can hold bends so that they don’t fall out of the drain hole and handy brush to help flush them clean.

Thanks everyone I’ll measure up at the weekend and then decide. 👍

You were unlucky. This was available Saturday. Sold privately in the end though. 🤔
If a deal like that doesn’t pop up again, I’d look for the vacuum cleaner piping option. 🤪

That was us - we messaged the fellow Funster (through the ad.) a few minutes before you - hoping it will be easier to use & clean than using the one long single extendable washing machine hose above.
We will be trying it out in the New Forest soon & will post an update.

Me too ! I paid £6 for 18m

The advantage of the expensive solution is the pipes concertina for storage and you don’t have an 18m run when you only need 3m.

TheBig1 , I had the same, used it a couple of times then thought I wouldn’t use in future, how I regret throwing it out.

I guess I must be lucky as there is an extension housed under the side skirt of my Pilote which screws on to the waste outlet valve. It is about 1.5 metres in length.

My Carthago comes with a similar hose but to reach the drain point on a serviced pitch or the hedge/ditch on a CL/CS (where directed or permitted) then a few further metres is often needed.

Bought the hose with adapter kit.
Made a stub out of 40mm drain to slip into the knife outlet, only needed a bit of sanding to make fit, adapter then fits over that.
Have a concertina type hose 2m if need any extra.

Any electrical wholesaler will sell you "Copex" for about 50-60p a metre, depending on diameter.
Does the same as "grey water waste hose", but doesn't attract motorhome tax ;)(y)

We bought the pipe adapter, (as Wombles above) found it on Ebay, I think about £5.00 and my own flexi pipe, works a treat.
