We have stayed up the road at the National Trust Pratshayes site, simple but pleasant. We have enjoyed bacon sandwiches and do walking at Exmouth.

Well done Exmouth, obviously a forward-thinking council. Wish there were more.

Not a place we have visited but with this sort of attitude, it's now on our radar.

Live just up the road and regulary use the seafront to park up. Really pleased with the councils views on this. Timely also as we have to take the views of the local non motorhomers into account. A fair few seem to not realise the difference between parking up and of using the promenade as their own "free" campsite , to the detriment of walkers, cyclists and famiies on holiday. Too many park with their wheels on the pavement and spread their chairs etc all over the promenade . quite selfish in my opinion and gets us all a bad name, apart from the reports of people dumping waste etc--this may or may not be just tittle tattle. It does seem as if there is a will to appease the locals and also to provide for us motorhomers.

Resurrecting this thread as we are looking to stay down there for the weekend later this month.

Looking at the Councils website, link here, they appear to have placed a restriction on MH? Has anyone stayed recently or can any locals (@eleanor rigby), please verify the latest position?

We stayed there for a couple of nights(Marine Drive? The road past the lifeboat station) a couple of weeks ago, and there were several other MH's there as well. Didn't see any signs staying otherwise.
All the car parks had the usual no overnight sleeping signs, but this stretch seemed ok.

if you like seafood you must try the Rockfish. might have to book but trust me its worth it. stunning views across the estuary, great food and service.
We stayed at Starcross and got the ferry over to Exmouth.

Thanks for the info(y) I note you have a PVC, our is a coach built, which is 7m long; would you say it would be a squeeze for us to park here?

Before our PVC we had a 7.49m Coachbuild, and as long as we reversed into the bay, so that the rear overhang was over the path, we were fine. It's a wide path so still gives plenty of room for people to get by. We use to worry a little about the overhang, but when you see how some people park, it beggars belief!!

Hi

We used to park there regulary, as we live 2 miles away. We have a 7m van and no issues.
