We've got a Bessacar built on 2.8 jtd and Alko chassis and need a new exhaust.
Done various googling but can't find one.
Does anyone know if it's a bespoke system ? Been quoted £400 for a stainless one.
Can anyone recommend a company in Lancashire ?
Thanks in advance.

That's what I thought but after buying a standard exhaust it's completely different.
Luckily I could take it back.

Lots of motorhomes built on the AlKo chassis have modified exhaust systems, I've replaced a couple and had to cut and weld to make a system fit.

45 +years with breaks
From memory when the early MK4 transit white van and cab chassis were on the road, there was something
like 117 different exhausts in the catalog for the chassis cab version alone
And 90 plus rear brake shoe applications for that vehicle alone, never got a total for rear axle set ups but that too was huge WHY?????
Things have got better believe it or not

If you have been quoted 400 for the whole thing I would say go for it. I am just about to pay 200 just for the tail Pipe custom made in stainless steel.

I'd be interested to know the company who quoted you for the stainless one?

The problem I had originally, was the mild steel system was in various stages of rot, and poorly mounted. Although it is a SWB chassis, the extra length of the MH conversion requires 1m length tailpipes to be added/welded on to clear the rear.

None of the local 'fast fits' wanted to know, because it just wasn't standard. (duh)

Trawled through various related

forums and found PP Tuning in Louth. Booked an appointment and travelled from Essex to Lincolnshire overnight and camped outside as it was his first job.

My MH is a VW T4 Compass Calypso low profile, and just fitted under Jason's shutter.

Jason is a master of his craft , and produced a quieter simple system, beautifully made and well mounted. A choice of styling tailpipe finials were offered. Complete job turned around in just over an hour. It turned out in conversation, the colleague I saw coming into work at 6:00am, comes in early to prepare the days work, fabricating silencers, 'cats'

etc, all in stainless.

Very pleased with the service, dedicated professionalism, very reasonable price and above all, an excellent job.
Would recommend any day. Thanks Jason.

(it was very sunny hot day, made light exposure to camera difficult, but you get the idea)
