I need to find out the correct code for an exchange engine for my 2007 Citroen Relay LWB.I have located one and will be viewing tommorow.Been told the 100 is different to the 120?Also where is the engine code located?

Sorry to hear your troubles Chris, but our Peugeot is registered 07 but that is the year they changed, so when looking for parts we have to get 06 , ours has the timing belt but I couldn't persuade A to Z that it had one kept saying it's got a chain , even went to Angus McKinnon and they didn't believe me till I got them out to look at it.
Don't know if this applies to yours but just what I have found.

Had a word with garage owner who has a 2.2 Tranny engine for sale -says its a 2.2 /125 bhp and 2010 -would this be suitable as mine is a 2.2/120 -2007?

Engine code should be on the data plate normally on the slam panel and visible when you lift the bonnet

Thanks Charlie going to look at an engine tommorow just got to get info on codes to see if its suitable.Had been to Crakow Poland for Auswitz tour and got back to Mons Belguim when engine went-got it brought back Tues by Nationwide (Flexplus breakdown cover) at mates garage at moment.My van is 57 reg new (shape) with 2.2 Transit engine-had done a lot of miles(150k) .Hope your holiday was better than mine!(had a great week up till the breakdown though).Reguards Chris.

WHAT, 150k miles is a lot for a diesel engine !!!. The damn thing should only just be bedded in.

Various garages have told me the 2.2 120 Transit engine is prone to "throughing a rod" usually no 3 cylinder due to an injector fault.Not the strongest engine. May go for a recon engine .
