We are booked on Eurotunnel on 21 March for a trip to France, then probably onward to Spain and maybe Portugal. We are fully Covid jabbed and can download our passes on our smartphones. I am just trying to get my head around the French declaration we each have to fill out and send digitally. So I have a few questions for those Funsters who have already done this please.

When do these have to be filled out and submitted? What did you put for your destination? We do not usually have a destination in mind as we just enjoy wandering. I can just guess a place we may go to as some point, but is it best to give a French or Spanish destination?

I have also been reading about the declarations the Spanish require when you are going by Ferry direct to Spain. Are these also needed when you cross by road into Spain from France? Also are there any Portuguese requirements when crossing into Portugal by road?

Many thanks for any help you can give.

When we went to France last October it was a paper form. For destination I just put the first Aire we might stop at. We were never asked to show the form.

Nothing needed going into Spain by road.

I think its a statement of honour just to say you have no symptoms and just show it. I am not aware you need to send it electronically. With you Covid pass there are two displays, one for UK and one for border crossings.

From about a week to go to your crossing euro tunnel will send you emails with links to fill out the required forms that will allow you to wiz on through customs, you will be able to save these documents on the device you fill them out on too… nothing needed going from France to Spain.
Have a good trip Peter…👍🏼

I just filled our statement d' honneur forms hard copy and took photos of them on my phone. I also took photos of our covid certificates. I uploaded the photos ( jpegs) the day before we travelled via "my booking" on their website. I got an email about 2 hours later that they had been accepted. Wasn't asked for anything other than passports before boarding the train.
No border controls between France and Spain. I fact we didn't realise we had entered Spain, via the Pyrenees, for a fair time, when we noticed the signage had changed!

For ET Just upload it into your API section when its green you re fine, I don't think you can do them until 48 hours before the crossing.

We crossed Spain to France about 3 weeks ago and France to Spain in December, Both occasions Police were present but not interested in us.

When we went back in September last year I had the paper forms ready but they weren’t even asked for. Pointless!

I looked at the ET “declaration of honour form“ and also wondered about the destination but also have trouble with the tick boxes ,I guess that’s what they are, and the signing, it doesn’t seem to work on my iPad.

I intend to fill the first part of the form in on my computer and then print it out. I will then tick the boxes, fill in the bit at the bottom and sign it on paper. Once done I will scan the completed form and send it to ET.

Coming back in May and the UK track and trace form can only be filled in on line. It seems that people who don't use the web are not allowed to travel any more.

PdfFiller app works for me…

Stupid question probably but here goes ...

On the bottom of the form there's a bit which says

"Done in _________________, on _______ / ________ / _______"
"Signature"
Now the Signature bit I get but I can't decide if the "Done in" bit is meant to go with the 'not vaccinated' bit above or is meant to be completed by all, if so what do you put for "Done in"?????

As I understand it it means the place where you filled out the form and signed it. I intend to put our home town

That's what we did but the French customs weren't interested.

It just means the place where you are when you are signing the form. Fait à = made at. A very French requirement on every French form I've ever signed. Use your home town name, don't need the full address.

And what destination should you put please when you are touring around and don't know where you will end up?

Don't want to sound facetious, but I'd say you can put any destination you chose. I'd pick the first Aire you are aiming for.

Hi we did 11 countries in 5 months last year, I would be very short with Amy information as you fill forms on where you have been previous to entering any new country. It seems to complicate things, so if you enter a country not being asked and then transit through without being asked pretend you where never there. Even if you where for several weeks. The more paperwork you have the longer the border experience will last. No borders within the EU.
Goodluck enjoy we did 👍👍

Very good advice! Give as little info as you possibly can get away with.
