Hey folks - we're thinking about a bit of a trek May / June / July next year. 8 to 12 weeks.
Just the two of us.
Gas is now refillable....
No time schedule as such except the departure date and return will be set, at some point...

Taking in the following:
ferry from Hull to Belgium
then
Germany
Austria
Slovenia
Croatia
Greece
Ferry to Italy
France
Spain
Portugal
Spain then
Bilbao ferry back to Blighty

Thoughts / suggestions / concerns and particularly experiences very welcome.
TIA

I did the same thing this year twelve weeks over the same months as you plan. Same destinations except we didn't do France (much) Spain or Portugal.
Your trip, to me, sounds like just too much to take in.
Slow down and enjoy, have the flexibility to stay longer in places you like.
That was Croatia for me (y)
I plan to do Spain and Portugal in another trip
Edit ; just seen you included Greece as well, definitely too much.
We didn't do much of Italy either, good excuse for another trip.

Thanks
Spain and Portugal were the main ports of call. Ferry from Greece to Italy then drive up the coast. Croatia just gone further up the pecking order
Avoid France as much as possible.
Still very early days so thanks for the response

With 8/12 weeks I would suggest you head for your main "must see" destinations and allow yourself as long as you want to do them thoroughly. We did a 12 week trip several years ago that really just took us down through France and Spain and we spent most of our time in Andalusia, which we loved. We did another 8 weeks to really just do Portugal, inland and Atlantic Coast. With no pressure to tick off too many countries you can relax and when you find somewhere you like, stay put for a while.

You don't want to return totally exhausted.

Whatever you decide.....enjoy it.

Thanks Keades for the positive response. Another spin of the globe I think.

That was a worry. Did think that that May / June would be ok?

Link doesn't work.
Essentially circumnavigate Spain / Portugal, crossing over to Morocco (Tangier to Marrakesh - by train), include a ferry excursion to Mallorca perhaps on the way back up the east coast of Spain.
In and out of northern Spain port - Santander / Bilbao.
Total about 3000 miles - 2400 of these driving - the rest train (Morocco)/ ferry (Mallorca).
