Can someone explain what the green zones are. I understand that we need a sticker to go into Paris, Bordeaux and many other cities. Are Green Zones a different thing and if not, do we need the same sticker.

Looks like the French have got it tied up as you have to pass thru at least one zone on your way South to Spain. And as they make some zones operational as and when the air quality is exceeded, it appears the only way to avoid a fine is to buy an air quality disk :(

Is it only me, or is the information abut ZPAd zones only on their app/website? A Google search for Gers/Auch ZPAd, for instance, only results in links to crit-air.fr and related websites linked to their selling scam. I would have expected some results from the Gers department but a read of gers.gouv.fr seems to indicate nothing is in place. A search for ZPA or ZPAd on gers.gouv.fr gives no results.

It would be nice to see something official about these new areas.

The lez sticker is easy to get and cheap and takes away the worry of straying into an lez zone.

Does anyone know if you can purchase the sticker locally i.e.; from the prefecture or hotel de ville

But only possible if you actually have a vehicle that will comply ?

What is interesting is the Swiss hire car I picked up in Geneva on Saturday doesn't have a crit d'air badge, and the entire Savoie and Haute-Savoie are covered by a zone since Nov 17.
Given the proximity of Switzerland ( esp Geneva) to the Haute-Savoie and Savoie and how many people fly to Geneva and hire cars to go to the French mountains, I wonder how the absence of crit d'air tickets on foreign hire cars will play out.
If a fine is levied, who is liable? The hire car or the hirer?

Just checking Denmark for my own purposes and found this:

"Attention: Motorhomes with a maximal weight of 3, 5 tons or more don’t need an EcoSticker, even if they are classified as Lorries."

If you don't have a scanner or not a dab hand at reducing, take a photo on a camera or phone from a distance so it only occupies a ¼ of the screen then crop it.

There was an announcement on another forum that Belgium has introduced a LEZ sticker. I've had a good look around and the only way you can apply for one is through https://www.lez-belgium.be/en/ who seem to be a private company and want almost £20 for one.
I've now found this who say there isn't one

Confused:Eeek:
