Hi we are planning a trip to Belgium or northern France in July for a week, can anyone recommend some places to stay and any tips would be appreciated too.

We have regularly stayed in Ypres at the Jeugdstadion site. It's convenient for the town and has good facilities. You can stay either on the aire or the tourist site. It is very busy this year because of the centenary but you can make bookings by email.
We also enjoy the Graveline aire which is situated on a small port with a simple walk into town. The Bourne is about a mile distant but that's never been an issue if you call on the way to or fro. It's about half an hour from the tunnel so we often make this our last night before our return.

There is a campsite at Bruges, Camping Memling where you can park up and use the buses to get into the city centre. We were there in December. The site facilities were excellent and there was a supermarket within walking distance.
