Good evening you lovely people, your expert knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

House sold awaiting completion. We have found a 2004 euramobile A810 with a 2.8 diesel engine. Is there any issues we need to be aware of before buying ?

Euramobile: had one a few years ago. Excellent.

Really high quality German motorhome. Extremely well put together.

Have you read the motorhome buyers guide ? downloadable here
I think Euromobile are a respected manufacture of decent quality motorhomes, is it based on a Ducato 2.8 JTD ?
I have that engine in mine and no problems, it`s a good engine, perhaps a bit sluggish going up hills but you just have to use the gears.

We had an 810 for 6 years with never a problem. The hab side was really well put together and well spec''d. The 2.8 was a bit under powered on hills for the 4.5 tonne but then again that's what gears are for. They are not common in the U.K. but more so in Europe.

On my second one now, previous was a 2005 A class on Mercedes, pulled like a train, wishing now I had been able to keep it but didn't need the six berths. Interior build was second to non, everything was still like new when we traded it in, no flimsy cabinet doors or sagging upholstery.

We have had our 810 (twin beds) for nearly 2 years now and love it. Bit gutless on steep inclines but that just gives you the chance to chat to the cyclists as they over take you.
Also managed to get mine up to 5.5Tonnes.

Only problem with mine is the cupboard stays none stay up now but that's what your head is for. Had engine troubles but new one in and running great glad we bought it.
Watch where you get cam belt changed as over tightening the tensioner bolts is as bad as not enough.

If you want genuine Eura Mobil parts I'd contact Geoff Cox (they're the new UK dealer) with your van's serial number to see if they can help get the stays.

I've also used Elite Motorhomes in the past for new garage door seals and they were very helpful.

Alternatively, you might be able to find something suitable from Wickes, B&Q or Ikea perhaps?

Good luck!

Be interesting to know what you had to do to get up to that.

Can't remember how much it was 5 or 6 years ago, but just take one in with you and look at the kitchen cupboard gas struts they do various sizes. (y) Bob.

Lovely machines but yes old powertrain.

A remap would sort the power out, it makes a big difference to the 2.8jtd. as long as you drive it considerately, don't let it slog too much on the hills.

I had a 770 HS and it was fantastic. Loved it... Not a single complaint about anything on it.

When I bought it 2 years ago it came as 5T, but when cruising on the internet one day I found an identical 810 on mobile de, it was an 06 with gvw of 5.5T.
I contacted JR Consultancy to see what he thought. He eventually came back to me and asked me to confirm it was an Alko chassis and whether the rear axles were square or round. Mine are round and a couple of weeks later after investigation he said that I could have 5.5T. A1 2T A2 1750 A3 1750 GTM6T.
So I now have a V5 that gives me 5.5T.
I have had it fully laden with no problems at all, just a wee bit slow when confronted with , the lecht in the Cairngorms.

Thats great. I was surprised when he apologised that he could only get me 5.5T.
Hope it works out for you. Keep me posted. Kev.

Mine is an 03 on a 2.8jtd Fiat, i dont know what other base vehicles they have used, would be nice to get an upgrade for a bit of peace of mind.
