We are catching an early train to Calais in mid August.
Is there anywhere we can park overnight in Folkstone?

Hi, We went across on the Tunnel a few months ago and the train was booked for 2200 but we arrived at 1900 and they said we could go straight on board. The same happened when we came back, the train was booked for 0200 but we arrived around 1800 the day before and once we sorted dog stuff out etc.. they said again that we could get on for early (no extra charges either way).

We were well impressed but obviously this depends on how full they are. When we arrived at the other side we pulled into first petrol station (literally 10 mins away from train station) and asked for directions to nearest site but were told we could stay there- which we did (first night in a motorhome- it was fine.)

Hope you have a great trip.:thumb:

We too have arrived early many times and most times been offered an earlier time. There is a service area that you can stop at just before the turn off for the tunnel, it is signed for early arrivals, but I think you may have to pay.

Stop 24 at Jnc 11 M20 but small charge overnight. Princess parade promenade at seabrook approx 2 miles from tunnel, off A259 plenty free parking along coast road.
In Folkestone you have the leas opposite Grand and Metropole hotel lovely walk along cliff tops 5 miles from tunnel

An alternative would be to get across (if you can get an earlier train all the better) and go straight to Cite Europe in Calais which is next to the Eurotunnel - free overnight parking close to the motorway for your onward journey:thumb:

Just turn up at the Eurotunnel Terminal and they'll either put you on the next available train or give you a lettered 'hanger' to display for your booked train and you can park overnight on the terminal carpark.

99 times out of a 100 they'll shove you on the next train just to get rid of you!
