Euro creeping up?

Withdrew some Euro's from an ATM in Spain yesterday and got €1.16.2 to the Pound.
Highest I can remember for a couple of years.
Is there something going on?

I guess it's because no deal Brexit has been effectively ruled out or made extremely unlikely ?

The interbank rate was briefley over 1.17 euro to the £ yesterday (or possibly the day before - don't recall exactly?).

@namwaldog - not quite, your extra euros are thanks to the £ gaining strength probably due to the gamblers thinking that the HoC might be in danger of agreeing on something.

It has to go up cos Mark Carney our dear Gov of the Bank of England said the opposite! Has he ever got any forecast correct?

I predict that the £ will strengthen, weaken or stay the same.

Surely that statement qualifies me for Carney's job, after all he is a Canadian/Irish/British clearly unable to make a decision.
