I hope it keeps getting delayed.
I saw the analysis of the delays at Dover if it was introduced and they were days, not hours.
I just hope we aren’t going across anywhere near the time it’s happening.
We desperately need to open more ports and have better infrastructure than we do currently if we are to keep the current border arrangements.

Why would it cause any delays it's logged against your passport number. Passport would just be scanned as normal.

The analysis I saw may have been older, they reckoned 5-10 minutes per car of four people. This may be the updated quicker, pay for your data to be held system that you scan???
Imho expecting to introduce a reliable system across 27 countries with 27 governments and 27 vetos was always going to be difficult, then add in leaky external borders, anomalies like Switzerland, NI, Andorra etc and trucculent customs officers on protected employment status. It will have to be a lot simpler.

Yes but that’s no guarantee anything useful will happen, 17.4 million here voted for something, but didn’t stop it being a load of bollox!
It’s not the ETIAS that will cause delays, but the EES system which requires facial scans etc that will cause the delays.
