Peugeot boxer 2003 Compass Avantgarde 400 RL 2003, 27000 miles. Is it worth remapping? What's the cost and who is in Scotland to do it?

One can of worms duly opened............

Hi, you'll get a lot of strong opinions both for and against a remap. Out of warranty it might be worth it - if you do so, then much better to get a proper remap rather than a bolt on tuning box. I don't know who can do it up there but it might be worth contacting someone like wow tuning. Hope that helps a bit.

You dont say what engine you have..
I had a 2005 Fiat Ducato 2.8jtd.. A remap gave it a lot more torque and grunt up hills, MPG was the same but driving it was far better... Had the re-map on for about 4 years and no issues. Sold van with it re-mapped..

I am waiting to do my 2.3 but as it's still only 18 months old I wanted to wait a while..

Hi I got a quote from a company in Inverness for a Ducato 2.3 tdj 2007 at £250 but can't remember the name as only got the email the other day and now touring round Wales for 3 weeks. After some of the hills we have been up I'm certainly going to get it done when I get back North

Engine type?

Stay away from tunning boxes, they only trick the ECU into cold running mode. A re-map for 150 is to cheap imo, a proper re-map needs to be done on a rolling road to optimise changes to the ecu. Often the cheap re-maps are only tweaks made to the turbo (mechanical tweaks) but can give good results to low down torque but 150 quid for a couple of turns on a screw is a bit of a mis sell

Best thing I ever did for our Merc 313CDi. Now goes like sh*t off a shovel - even towing & saves 5mpg. £220 2 years ago.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
re map

We`re just about to buy a new motorhome, had the current one remapped from new never had a fault with it, as someone said goes like the clappers and 25mpg plus from a 3 litre 29` long motorhome isn`t bad.
We`ll definitely be getting the new Apache 2.3 litre remapped, as mentioned in previous post be sure to get a remap not a bolt on box. :thumb:
