We have an autotrail on a Fiat ducato which runs great but each time we start the engine there is a knock under the drivers seat.
I took it to a Fiat dealer for some other work and asked them to look at the problem but they said they could not find anything wrong no problem with engine mount?

Has anybody experienced this problem or is just my paranoia.
Thanks
Terry

mine does the same, can't find nothing wrong. But think it is the exhaust somewhere that bangs against something.
I've read other folk have same problem.

Check the exhaust rubbers as they are known to fail, there is a safety strap round the outside of the rubber part so when the rubber part breaks it still holds the exhaust but not as it should.

other possibility is rear engine mount try watch the engine while someone starts the van see if engine rocks back and forth if it does get it done asap as you can snap the manifold bolts
