Hi Everyone this is my first post on the site
I Want to re carpet my Fleetwood Southwind but the original colour is proving very difficult to even get close to. i am trying to match the carpet that is on the engine cover.alternatively if you guys know of a fitter that can recover the engine cover i can change the original colour to anything i like and immediately solving my problem.

Many thanks
Dave

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Anyindependant carpet fitter may be willing to take up the challenge or have you tried a coach trimmer?
My seats were done by a domestic upholsterer and the carpets by a domestic carpet layer who also overlocked the edges.
Good Luck

As the man with the big foot says
mine was done by a local carpet shop, they do specialise in Motor homes and caravans, covering the Dog Kennel (Engine Cover)l in an RV is a work of art and not all will take it on, my guy is based in Mansfield, I think you will find a local fitter capable, if not give us a shout

Cheers for replys
if any one has names of fitters that would be great. i had a local fitter out today he seems quite confident he can do it but its going to cost £190 just for fitting including Lino fitting. It actually worked out that the dog kennel would cost £100 alone.
not sure but seems a little pricey to me

I'm been thinking of changing the carpet and happened to go into Carpet Right yesterday and saw just the right colour!!!:thumb: I contacted a local carpet fitter but he said 'no way!

However, I contacted another fitter and he said that he had worked on motorhomes before. Apparently he works part time for John Lewis, so I am presuming that he must be quite good!:winky: He is coming over one evening next week to give me a quote, so I will let you know what he says.

Cheers
Toni

re carpet fitting

Hi,
We also have a Fleetwood Southwind and are about to change the carpets. How are you doing it? and does your bus have a slideout? Are you cutting around the furniture or taking out dining booth etc.? Need to get this done asap as house now rented out from 24th Feb and want floor sorted by then,if anybody out there has got any advice it would be most welcome

Hi, Dave, just a thought -why not have 2 tone carpets? at least it would be different, you could go for a nice contrast.
