Just enjoyed our 2nd weekend away in our Knaus Sun ti. As newbies we are still on a learning curve. All going well but we cannot work out how to empty fresh water tank. Can anyone advise? Thank you all in advance. Lisa and Dave

Different vans have different methods.
On our Autoquest there was a flexible pipe with a tap in the end, similar to the one for draining the grey tank, and accessed from outside the van where it was clipped underneath.
In the Burstner there is a plug in the bottom of the tank, similar to a small sink plug. It is attached by a chain (normal plug chain) to the underside of the large access cap. To drain the tank I unscrew the cap and pull on the chain then leave the plug hanging until it is done before replacing it.
When you do work it out don't forget to drain the hot water tank (you may need to open both manual and automatic drain valves).

Thanks for that. All we can see when we open the cap inside on top of tank is an overflow tube which is vertical in the tank. You can look down through tube to outside. Not sure whether we should be unscrewing this tube?

We usually run the taps with fresh water to fill the grey tank then drain that, this way it clears any bits of grey water left from before, and runs clean water through so no smelly water left, if you see what I mean........
Cheers, Dave(y)

The only thing we can see in the bottom of tank is the overflow pipe which stands vertically. If we fill with too much water it flows into the top of pipe and runs down and out of tank. You can see the hole in bottom of this tube if you look into it. Other than that we cannot see any plugs. Thought we might be being thick but perhaps not?

Just spoken to a friend who has a Knaus and he says he has to unscrew that tube.
It is plastic on his,so be carefull not to cross the thread when re-fitting .

Thank you for your help Mike and Carolyn. We thought about that but didn't like to do it in case we broke it.
Thanks to everyone else as well. Really pleased we found Motorhome fun!

We had a Knaus Sunliner for 5 years and the only way we could drain our fresh water tank was by turning the taps on and thereby draining it all through the grey waste tank.

You've probably done it by now but we had a Knaus Sport and the water tank was emptied by unscrewing the pipe that sticks up from inside the base of the tank.

Make sure when you put it back that it seals tightly, firmly but not excessively, or you'll get water leaking out – a bit of PTFE tape around the thread will solve that.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. Will try undoing the pipe. ( very carefully as it looks as though it could easily break.

As the owner of a 2005 Knaus Sun Ti, I can confirm that unscrewing the pipe, is the correct method, as already described.
It's more robust than it looks, and is quite easy to remove, but not always as easy to refit. Take your time.
I modified ours, making it easier to remove and refit.
