not long enough
cant help with fuse but our step will push back in manually and doesn't seem to affect future operation

I had an issue where I couldn't get mine in and had to move, but push gently they might not all be the same

It opens a document for me ok. The fuse allocation copied below: I hope it helps.

Fuse Allocation
F1 = 2A EM50 Supply
F2 = 7.5A Marker Lights
F3 = 20A Heater **
F4 = 20A Air Conditioner **
F5 = 20A Electric Step
F6 = 5A Awning / Entry Light
F7 = 20A Fridge
F8 = 20A Split Charge Supply ** F9 = 20A Vehicle Battery

Autotrail are good at supplying old manuals and their website offered this:

On some steps there is a pin you can remove to allow the step to be retracted manually.

Ref Autotrails. There is a known issue on some years / models where there was a batch of faulty components called "polyfuse" a self resetting fuse that is built within the Sargent main control box. Needs a physical repair to fix if that is the case.
Another common issue ref Autotrail step retraction is low power in the leisure battery and also the actual step mechanism being dirty and clogging up the moving parts creating a strain on the battery.

Good luck with getting it sorted.
