Had a strange experience this weekend,

Stayed at Abbey Wood CC site from Friday - Sunday. Went to Chatham for the day by rail leaving the van on site.

On the return trip we had a terrific thunder storm with fantastic lightning displays however when I started the vehicle up on Sunday morning 2 strange things happened.

1. The immobillisor light stayed on even though the engine started and ran OK.

2. The digital clock reset itself to 00.00Hrs automatically.

Does anyone think that there could have been a lightning strike close to the site and this affected the electronics?.

I stopped the vehicle and when I restarted the immobillisor worked OK, I had to reset the digital clock by hand.

Never underestimate lightning. It can do ANYTHING. I have experienced destroyed electronics, burned mains wiring and bricks knocked off chimneys.

So yes it is perfectly possible.

Looks like you got lucky - if the God of Lightning had frowned upon you you would not have driven home.
