The item that's tripped is an MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker), which trips when the amps exceeds its limit. It says 'C16' on it, so the limit is 16A. There must be a short circuit between live and neutral. I can see that the device on the right, an RCD (Residual Current Device) has not tripped. If there was a short to earth or the fridge metalwork, that RCD would have tripped.

Could be many things - a wire out of its terminal and shorting to another wire, insulation rubbed away and two wires shorting, mice chewing the wiring. A prime suspect for this kind of thing is the fridge 240V heater element, which can fail as a short circuit. But if the MCB still trips with the fridge unplugged then it's not that.
