Our steps are at an angle due to age 2006 suntor. Any advice how to fix the problem as a new set is £800 which I would rather keep in my pocket. Are they easy to remove and and put back for repair.
many thanks for any help in this matter.

If it's a Thule step which it looks to be having had a look on Google for your van, then it is quite easy to remove as I had to with ours recently when the mounting bracket broke away.

Remove the plastic motor cover and take a photo of the wiring connections in case you forget when it comes to refitting the step. Disconnect the wiring to the motor and limit switch and then unbolt the step from it's mounting place and it will drop away. Reverse to refit after repairs.

Thread hijack alert.

Our stuttering step was cured by a liberal application of WD40. Does this mean that a droopy step needs duct tape?

You can get repaired kits for the pivots.BROKEN LINK the plastic bushes are prone to wear.
