Hi. I’m wondering if a small suitcase 800w portable generator would also charge the cab battery as well if I hook it up to the EHU auxiliary socket. Feel a bit uneasy taking it for a spin under lockdown. TIA

does your van have the facility to charge the cab battery when on normal EHU, if so then yes.
if not you can always plug your battery charger in direct to the genny and the cab battery

Our 2014 elddis accordo didn't have any provision for charging the starter battery.

I never really understood if the cab battery only charges when the engine is running, or, also when on EHU.

I have no separate charging cab point.

I was thinking of buying a genny to avoid flat cab batteries, but I guess it will only charge the auxiliary on EHU seems to be the consensus on here.

I may have saved myself some money - thanks.

Take a look at the Battery Master as it's easy to fit and forget, plus you can get a 10% funster discount.

I have x 2 120ah which are quite new and hardly move on the dial gauge.

As we hardly ever wild camp they regularly get charged and have held their charge well in storage - that was until lockdown.

Thanks for this. However it is all gobbledygook to me. Unless I had detailed pictures to follow, electrics is the one thing I’m useless at.
Plaster a wall, fit a kitchen etc, yes, but electrics a no no I’m afraid.

I have no idea what a 12v cab/hab
battery split charge relay feed is, looks like, or where to find it. Otherwise, I’d buy this if I could confidently fit it.
